- How many tutorials are mandatory?
This is difficult to say. In each tutorial you can score points. You need 300 to pass. In the three lab tutorials together you can score up to 100 points (reaching 100 is highly unlikely, though). In each of the ordinary tutorials you can score up to 100 points (reaching 100 here should be feasible for everyone). So you can calculate yourself whether you can miss a session. If I were you I would plan to be present during the whole skills period.
- What if I do not reach 300 points?
This is unclear yet. Until last year there was no resit, but you could make up for missed tutorials by writing up to two essays (each would score up to 100 points). This year it will depend on a decision by the Board of Examiners. It might be that we continue with the previous rules or we will introduce a proper exam for the resit. The potential resit will be defined in such a way that skipping the tutorials and only attending the resit exam will not be attractive.
- I am set to do an internship at [...] this summer, starting on the first of July. Hence I will not be able to attend the second week of the skills period and I likely have to do the course assignment. Is there any possibility for me to do a shorter version of the course assignment?
There is no course assignment. You are supposed to be present in sufficiently many sessions to score at least 300 points (see questions and answers above). In the first week you can attend one tutorial which (if prepared) gives you 100 points and two lab sessions which give you about 40 points (if you do well in the markets). This implies that you need to score an 8 in each of the two essays (that would be worth: 2 essays * 8 grade points * 10 points per grade point = 160 points). So while this plan might work out there is no guarantee. If I were you I would at least try to attend one tutorial in the second week (another 100 points). Then I do not see any problems to make it. But also see the previous question. The Board of Examiners is still busy with the decision.
